The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has published a Regulatory Notice for Sheffield City Council.

Sheffield made a self-referral to the RSH due to a failure to meet statutory health and safety requirements in relation to gas safety.

The RSH’s subsequent investigation found that hundreds of properties had not received their annual gas safety inspection, with a significant number being overdue by more than 12 months, including some dating back several years.

The RSH found the Council to be in breach of the Home Standard and that as a result there was the potential for serious detriment to tenants.
