In the week commencing Monday 4 December 2023 the Housing Ombudsman published:

• a severe maladministration finding against Hackney Council, after the landlord caused substantial distress to a family with vulnerable children, due to repeated failures to fix a leak
• its latest Insight report, Insight on service charges and the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction, with Housing Ombudsman Richard Blakeway saying “The cost of living crisis and rising charges means this is one of the most complex and contentious areas we look at, and where there can be a significant breakdown in relationships”
