10% of high-rise buildings still have Aluminium Composite Material cladding panels in place

In its latest Building Safety Programme Monthly Data Release, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities has revealed that, as at the end of last month, 10% of high-rise residential and publicly owned building still had Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding panels in place.  Other headline findings are:

  • 95% (462) of all identified high-rise residential and publicly owned buildings in England had either completed or started remediation work to remove and replace unsafe ACM cladding
  • 438 buildings (90% of all identified buildings) no longer have unsafe ACM cladding systems
  • Of those with ACM cladding remaining, 24 have started remediation. Of the 24 buildings yet to start, two are vacant, so do not represent a risk to resident safety and
  • 100% of social sector buildings have either completed or started remediation compared with 91% of private sector buildings.
