The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) is consulting on changes to its Accounting Direction. The current Direction was published in 2019. When the RSH consulted on the 2019 Direction, a number of issues which were outside of the scope of the changes proposed at the time were identified, including Schedule 1 of the Direction (Particulars of turnover, cost of sales, operating expenditure and operating surplus) and certain narrative reporting disclosures. The RSH is now delivering on its commitments to further examine those issues. The consultation closes on 21 September 2021, with any changes that may be made to the Accounting Direction coming into force for accounting periods commencing 1 January 2022.
