The Housing Ombudsman has published a severe maladministration finding for Metropolitan Thames Valley (MTV). MTV failed to deal with a resident’s leaking roof and damaged ceilings in a new build property. As a result the situation deteriorated leading to water entering almost every room in the property.
The Ombudsman’s investigation found severe maladministration for MTV’s failure to deal with the repairs within a reasonable amount of time, in addition finding maladministration in relation to MTV’s handling of the resident’s complaint. The Ombudsman ordered MTV to pay compensation totalling £2,150 and recommended that MTV review the failures identified in the case.
